HISTORY
Milestones of a development
To make completely different products more beautiful, more pleasant or better – these were the impulse and claim of Fritz Kessler when he founded MIMOX AG with his father.
Thus partnerships developed on two sides: as a distribution partner of leading producers of raw materials. And as a development partner for customers who manufacture high-quality products within the scope of our range of products. Here is the story.
1980
On 3 July 1980 Fritz Kessler and Dr. Walter Kessler founded MIMOX AG with the focus on chemical specialties.
1982
The first raw material was a cellulose derivative for various Swiss paper mills. We also worked on high-quality CMC for the pharmaceutical and food industry.
1986
Started with effect pigments with a world market leader. This segment expanded to include personal care and cosmetics.
1987
Began cooperation with suppliers of color masterbatches and chemical blowing agents for the plastics sector.
1995
Expanded our portfolio in the sectors of personal care and cosmetics with specialties from new suppliers.
2004
Established the Regulatory Affairs and Safety department.
2008
New partnerships with leading international manufacturers of cellulose ethers and silicones.
2014
Second storage capacity in the Zurich area, synchronized with the company's growth and security needs.
2015
In March 2015 Deborah and Simon Kessler take over the management of the company – third generation of family ownership.
2016
Partnership with German supplier for liquid additives in the Paints & Inks sector, including applications for dispersants, wetting agents and defoamers.
2017
Opening of our own Application Lab. It supports customers in Personal Care and Cosmetics with guidelines for ideas and trends.
2018
Partnership with one of the few European manufacturers of organic pigments.
2020
During the Covid-19 crisis, operations run almost without disruption. Customers in the home care sector are supplied with central raw materials for disinfectants.
